Great-Grandmother

Suzana Popea Radu

B – July 19, 1853    D – April 24, 1950

The picture of my Great-Grandmother Suzana was taken from a painting painted by a Romanian painter, Mişu Popp. She was 18 years old at the time.

He flirted with her and wrote her a poem, inscribed on a tree in her garden.  

They were married in 1876. Ioan Radu raised cattle and thoroughbred horses. He also owned several stores.

They had 10 children: Maria Nita 1877-1973, Ioan Radu 1879-1983, Valeria Dumitrescu 1882-1950, twins Octavian and Stefan Radu b-1884, Reveica (Revi) Iacobescu, my Grandmother b-1886, Octavia Picalaboiu b-1888, Nicolae Radu b-1890, Ana Radulescu b-1893, Domnica Baston b-1897

69 Great-great-grandchildren (Alex, Annemarie you are two of them)

42 Great-great-great-granchildren (Connor, Kyra, Sophie, Ivy and April – you are part of this group)
